Margot Schulzke Seascape Collection introduced at the IAPS convention May, 2005. The box cover features the artists painting, Honfleur: The Inner Harbor, commissioned by Great American manufacturer Bob Strohsahl in Cincinnati. This is a 78-color assortment, including all of those used in the creation of the painting - and more. The selection, which contains many brilliant, intense colors, is unusual in also containing a range of the subtle, toned colors and greys so essential to full artistic expression. Margot has also done several workshops in colonial Mexico, the most recent at Hacienda Las Trancas near Dolores Hidalgo, Feb. 2007.
Margot has given annual five-day workshops in the Sierras at various locations, and while those will resume in 2009, in September 13-20, 2008, she is taking a workshop group to Southern France. For details, check the workshop listings in this website.
8 week sessions, weekly 3 hr. classes, two sessions are offered each year in the Auburn area.
2008/2009 Margot Schulzke Workshop Schedule
The response to the workshops continues to be enthusiastic; see comments of students on the workshops page. Attendance is growing significantly, and many students are coming back for second and third rounds. If you have not yet joined a Margot Schulzke Workshop, there are several opportunities coming soon in exciting locations-like Gig Harbor, Washington and Southern France in 2008-09.
Margot Schulzke is the juror of awards for Pastels USA 2008 at the Haggin Museum in Stockton, CA, and juror for the 2008 Northwest Pastel Society National Open Exhibition at Gig Harbor, Washington. She has judged numerous exhibitions, among them Pastels USA 2003, for which she was a juror of selection; the Sierra Pastel Society Pastels on High International Exhibition, 2002, and The Pastel Journal 100, 2004, with Alan Flattmann and Maggie Price. Selections from the latter (100 works from 3000 submitted) were published in the Pastel Journal April 2004.
